About Us
I have been addicted to photography since a child. I can thank my father for this since he seemed to pretty much document
every step in our lives. I really cannot remember exactly how old I was when I took my first picture and I don't remember
exactly which camera it was but I remember it used 620 roll film. "My" first camera was a Kodak Funflash like the one
pictured below and still have most of the pictures that I took in 1963 on our first trip "out west". I used pictures of Mount
Rushmore, "Pigtail" bridges, Rocky Mountain streams, and the Badlands to take Grand Champion at the County 4H Fair in
Photography. It used 127 roll film, AG1 flashbulbs and produced 4" by 4" pictures.

Over the next few years I progressed through the Kodak Instamatic 126 film cartridge camera and the 110 film cartridge

cameras.  I don't remember the model numbers but they were similar to the cameras in these pictures.

My love of photography would get sidelined off and on over the next 15 to 20 years (married, 2 kids, life in general). At some
point I started using inexpensive 35 mm camera that I received as give-away gifts and was now hooked on a new style of
picture taking. In 1985, I purchased my first "Good" camera. It was a Pentax SLR A3000, for which I purchased many lens and
filters and revived my love for the camera.

You can see a lot of my pictures on Flickr.com ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/indiana-shutterbug/ ). Some of these were taken
with my old Brownie, scanned and uploaded, some were taken with the Pentax and scanned and a lot of them using my
current Digital.

It is rare that I go anywhere without my camera. With the age of digital photography I am about to make my next step in the
camera upgrades. I started several years ago with a low resolution Poloroid PDC 640 which had a whopping .3 MP.

The next two digital upgrades were also Polaroids, the first being the PDC1100 (1 MP) then the PDC 2300Z (2.1 MP).

After I accidently plugged in the incorrect AC power into the 2300Z and smoked it, I switched to Canon Digital. Oh, the power

supply that was too much for my camera was the one for my laptop computer. After that, I got out the label maker to ID the

cords so that costly mistake wouldn't happen again. My first Canon was the A70, now bumping me up to 3.2 MP. I thought this

was a great little all purpose camera, frankly I think I worn it out, having taken literally thousands on pictures with it. When it

started acting up, I went Canon again to the camera I am currently using, the Canon Powershot A95 (5 MP). I use this camera

pretty much daily both for business and pleasure.

Loving the versatility of the SLR cameras, I have been dreaming of going that route for several years. After our daughter's

wedding and seeing how the pictures came out using the Canon A95, I couldn't help but think how much better they would be

with a higher resolution camera. I ordered and now have received my new Pentax K10D 10.2 megapixel camera. I chose the

Pentax DSLR since all of the lens that I currently own are compatable. Just seemed logical to me.

A friend and co-worker has agreed to let me shoot her wedding in late August, I knew I needed to order it now to have plenty
of time to get to know it.  You'll see pictures posted as soon as I get some taken.

For some of my other pictures, please look at the other pages of this site. All pictures posted were taken using a 5.0 MP or less
camera. Once I start using the K10D, those pictures will be identified as such.

So now armed with a vision, a new camera and a love of photography, with a little luck and the assistance and support of my husband maybe I can start up a new side business. So wish me luck or hire me for a photo shoot (preferably the latter).

Update September 3, 2007

After purchasing my second K10D I offically shot my first wedding. Over the course of 2 days (rehearsal and wedding) I shot almost 1200 pictures. My friend, the newlywed, is thrilled with the pictures and I am so glad. I will be posting some of the pictures shortly.

I decided to purchase the second camera body "just in case". The way I looked at it, I was responsible for capturing the day for Kylie and Aaron and IF something failed on the original camera, I needed a backup. As it turned out, my husband used it at times and got some pretty good shots.
